CDL-A OTR Flatbed / Step Deck Driver – Nationwide Hiring | $2,400–$3,000 Weekly | 1099

Cornerstone Driver Solutions is recruiting experienced CDL-A Flatbed and Step Deck drivers for a nationwide 1099 OTR opportunity.

$2,400–$3,000 Typical Weekly Gross | 1099 | 3 Weeks Out / 3 Days Home | Nationwide Except California

This opportunity is designed for experienced flatbed and step deck drivers who are comfortable with specialized freight, load securement, tarping, and extended OTR driving.

PAY & EARNING POTENTIAL

• $2,400–$3,000 typical weekly gross earnings
• Choose $0.85 CPM or 30% of gross revenue
• $100/day layover pay when eligible
• $25/hour detention after 3 hours, up to 4 paid hours
• $50 additional stop pay
• $50 tarp pay per tarped load
• Pay statements issued Friday
• Direct deposit Tuesday

Important: This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Advertised earnings are gross compensation and are not guaranteed take-home pay. Independent Contractors are responsible for applicable taxes, business expenses, and other costs associated with operating as a 1099 contractor.

HOME TIME

Standard: 3 weeks out / 3 days home

Florida-based drivers may qualify for a 4 weeks out / 4 days home rotation, subject to carrier approval and operational requirements.

This position is designed for drivers who are comfortable spending extended periods on the road. Home-time schedules are based on operational requirements.

FREIGHT

Drivers may haul a variety of flatbed and step deck freight, including:

• Machinery
• Steel coils
• Lumber
• Specialized equipment
• Other flatbed and step deck freight

Approximately 30% of loads may be drop-and-hook.

Drivers are responsible for the physical requirements associated with flatbed and step deck operations, including:

• Load securement
• Tarping
• Equipment inspection
• Properly securing specialized freight
• Safe operation of flatbed and step deck equipment

No-touch does not mean hands-off. Drivers must be physically capable of performing securement and tarping duties when required.

EQUIPMENT

Drivers operate late-model equipment, including:

• 2022–2026 Freightliner Cascadia
• Volvo VNL
• Automatic transmissions
• APU
• Inverter
• Qualcomm
• Inward-facing and outward-facing cameras
• Approximately 68 MPH pedal and cruise speed

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 8 months of recent OTR flatbed or step deck experience within the past 18 months
• Minimum age: 23
• Experience with load securement and tarping
• Comfortable with extended OTR driving
• Maximum 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
• Maximum 1 at-fault accident within the past 3 years
• Accident report required when applicable
• No major violations
• No SAP
• No DUI
• No felony convictions
• No disqualifying misdemeanors
• Maximum unemployment gap of approximately 12 months
• Must meet applicable DOT/FMCSA and carrier qualification requirements

Nationwide hiring — all U.S. states except California.

California residents are excluded from this opportunity.

This position is not intended for drivers looking for daily or weekly home time, a traditional W-2 company-driver position, or a driving job without securement and tarping responsibilities.
