CDL-A OTR Reefer Solo Company Driver

Truck Driver Nation LLC is hiring experienced CDL-A OTR Reefer Solo Company Drivers for full-time over-the-road positions hauling refrigerated and temperature-controlled freight throughout the contiguous United States.

Drivers may be hired from anywhere in the United States for this nationwide OTR operation.

We are looking for experienced, safety-focused professional drivers who understand the additional responsibilities involved in hauling temperature-controlled freight and can communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, safety personnel, and other transportation professionals.

Pay & Miles

  • $0.75 CPM
  • Approximately 3,000–3,500 miles per week, depending on freight, Hours-of-Service availability, operating conditions, and driver availability
  • Estimated $2,250–$2,625 gross mileage pay per week based on 3,000–3,500 paid miles at $0.75 CPM
  • Paid every Friday
  • No escrow
  • Actual weekly miles and earnings may vary and are not guaranteed

Equipment & Operation

  • OTR (Over-the-Road)
  • Reefer (Refrigerated)
  • Solo company driver
  • Refrigerated and temperature-controlled freight
  • Operating throughout the 48 contiguous states
  • Hiring qualified drivers nationwide
  • Newer-model Freightliner, Volvo, and select Kenworth tractors
  • Model years approximately 2025–2027
  • Trucks governed in the 70 MPH range
  • Electronic logging device use required

Home Time

  • Approximately 3 weeks OTR
  • Approximately 3–4 days home
  • Actual home time may vary based on freight, driver location, Hours-of-Service availability, and operating requirements

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate assigned Class A tractor and reefer trailer in nationwide OTR operations
  • Pick up and deliver refrigerated freight according to scheduled appointments and load requirements
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Inspect reefer equipment before loading
  • Confirm required load temperatures and operating instructions
  • Monitor and document trailer temperatures while under load
  • Maintain sufficient reefer fuel
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs and required transportation documentation
  • Comply with Hours-of-Service requirements and applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations
  • Follow applicable food-safety, sanitation, cargo-handling, and customer requirements
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch and operations
  • Provide timely updates regarding pickups, deliveries, detention, delays, temperature concerns, equipment issues, and other load-related matters
  • Protect freight and company equipment
  • Plan trips efficiently while considering Hours of Service, routing, weather, fuel, appointments, and temperature-control requirements
  • Maintain bills of lading, delivery receipts, temperature records, inspection reports, and other required documentation
  • Meet pickup and delivery requirements safely and reliably

Driver Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 2 years of recent verifiable CDL-A tractor-trailer experience
  • Current DOT medical certification
  • Ability to meet applicable DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements
  • No DUI
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
  • Must meet applicable company driving-history and safety requirements
  • Ability to safely operate reefer equipment and manage temperature-controlled freight requirements
  • Knowledge of Hours-of-Service and ELD requirements
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to complete required qualification and orientation procedures
  • Verifiable employment and CDL-A driving history
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Qualified to operate in interstate commerce
  • Fluent spoken and written English

SAP / Return-to-Duty

Applicants with SAP / Return-to-Duty history are not eligible for this position, including applicants who have completed a SAP program.

Schedule

This is a full-time OTR position. Drivers should expect to remain over the road for approximately 3 weeks at a time, followed by approximately 3–4 days of home time.

Compensation

$0.75 per mile (CPM).

At approximately 3,000–3,500 paid miles per week, estimated gross mileage pay is approximately $2,250–$2,625 per week.

Drivers are paid every Friday. There is no escrow requirement.

Actual mileage and weekly gross earnings may vary based on freight availability, Hours-of-Service availability, operating conditions, and miles completed.
