CDL A Regional Driver

Picture a Tuesday and Wednesday off, every week, because that is what you chose. No calling in to beg for home time and no schedule that changes every Friday. Regional intermodal work for drivers in the Louisville area, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a $1,654 weekly average.

How It Works

• Pick Your Days: any 2 consecutive days off except Saturday and Sunday together
• Pick Your Start: a start time that stays the same week to week
• Run the Region: intermodal containers across Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa
• Keep It Simple: about 75% drop and hook, mostly no touch
• Drive Newer: automatic mid roof tractors averaging 2.5 years old

What It Pays

• $1,654 weekly average, about $86,000 a year
• $10,000 sign-on bonus, first payment after your first dispatch (eligibility terms apply)
• $0.64 per mile to start, about 2,200 miles a week
• $65 per live load or unload and $35 per drop and hook
• $150 weekend bonus each week
• $20 to $25 per hour detention after the first hour
• $250 per day during 1 to 2 weeks of training, with a hotel stay

Requirements

• 21 or older with a valid Class A CDL
• Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 3 months in the last 6 with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Hazmat within 90 days of hire
• No careless or reckless driving and no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years
• No major preventable accidents in 3 years and no DUI/DWI in 5 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years
