CDL-A Regional Lumber Transport Driver (Moffett)

About the Role

Picture your week: You roll out of our family-owned lumber yard in the Rosedale area, a well-maintained 13-speed tractor and trailer behind you. You’re headed up and down the East Coast and into New England—professional, punctual, and proud of on-time deliveries. You’ll spend 2–3 nights out most weeks, but your weekends are yours. This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity with competitive pay—$28.00 to $34.00 per hour depending on experience—inside a company with a rich, long-standing history in the lumber industry.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver building materials safely and on schedule using company equipment while following all company procedures and standards.
• Verify loads against shipping paperwork; coordinate with receivers who may self-unload, accept hand-unloaded product, or require you to use a Moffett/piggyback forklift.
• Run primarily East Coast/New England routes with planned overnights as needed (2–3 per week on average).
• Champion safety: comply with and reinforce safety policies; always follow posted speed limits and traffic laws.
• Keep your rig in top shape—clean, road-ready, and compliant.
• Complete logs, pre- and post-trip inspections, and all required reports with accuracy.
• Communicate with customers ahead of arrival; handle concerns professionally or escalate to management when appropriate.
• Track and retain fuel receipts for IFTA tax reporting.
• Use an ELD to record drive time and on/off duty status in accordance with DOT requirements.

What You Bring

• Valid CDL A and a safe driving record.
• 5+ years of professional driving experience (company driver background preferred).
• Mastery of a 13-speed, split manual transmission.
• Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and a process-oriented mindset.
• Strong, courteous customer service skills.

Physical & Work Expectations

• Lift up to 70 lbs and operate a Moffett forklift when needed.
• Handle product and perform occasional hand-unloads.
• Maintain high energy and consistent work habits.
• Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug-screening.

Schedule & Route

• Full-time, direct hire
• 2–3 overnights per week; no weekends
• OTR and regional routes focused on the East Coast/New England
