CDL A Semi-Local Truck Driver - Sunday to Thursday

Friday night at home. Saturday with the people who matter. This semi-local route out of Lansing, MI runs Sunday to Thursday with a 10 AM start, no touch store freight and a $1,731 weekly average. Drivers hired now also get a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

A Week on This Route

• Sunday: roll out at 10 AM with a loaded trailer from the Lansing distribution center
• On the Road: most runs head to Chicago suburbs, never downtown, with some to Michigan, Northern Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin
• At the Store: drop your trailer and hook the next one, no unloading
• Nights Out: 2 to 3 a week on average in a single bunk sleeper
• Thursday: grab a backhaul, head back to Lansing and park the truck
• Friday and Saturday: yours

What It Pays

• Weekly Average: $1,731, about $90,000 a year
• Sign-On Bonus: $7,500, first payment after your first dispatch (eligibility terms apply)
• Show Bonus: an extra $500 for drivers hired before October 5
• Longer Runs (about 75% of loads): $0.63 per mile, $0.645 after 1 year, $0.66 after 3 years, plus $20 per stop
• Shorter Runs (about 25% of loads): $0.725 per mile, $0.735 after 1 year, $0.745 after 3 years, plus $30 per stop
• Miles: 2,500 to 2,700 per week
• Backhauls: $30 per vendor pickup
• Readiness Pay: up to $100 per week for showing up on time and checking in before you leave
• Breakdowns: $25 per hour after 2 hours, up to $300 a day
• Hourly and Safety Pay: $20 per hour

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL and at least 21 years old
• Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 3 months in the last 6 with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days (we reimburse the cost)
• No careless or reckless driving and no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years
• No major preventable accidents in 3 years and no DUI/DWI in 5 years
• Hair and urine drug testing
