Cdl-A Truck Driver

Our Calumet City, IL branch is seeking a full-time CDL-A truck driver. This position is first shift, M - F, and hourly (no flat rate!). This is a union role through Local 150. The hourly compensation for this role is $37.00 per hour.

The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

Timely delivery of equipment and basic upkeep of the truckOperate two types of trailers: beaver tail trailers and lowboy trailers.Maintain daily trip logsAccurately complete paperworkProviding exceptional customer serviceWork and manage workloads independentlyProper completion and submission of all required paperworkIncorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerforms other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years of previous CDL-A truck driving experience is desiredExperience with Lowboy truck is required.Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving recordMust be able to drive stick shiftComputer programs- HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software and Hyster contact management systemLanguage Skills- Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills- Basic: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Reasoning Ability- Intermediate: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
