About the Position

Our client is seeking CDL A drivers to support local and regional yard operations in Houston, Texas. This long-term, on-site opportunity offers steady work, consistent routes, and the opportunity to work with a driver-focused team.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $24 per hour
• Employment Type: Long-term flex
• Schedule: Varies; most routes begin between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.
• Yard Shifts: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Layovers: One to two per week, typically one day

Job Details

• Route Type: Local and regional
• Freight: Dry van
• Stops: Five to eight stops per day
• Equipment: Automatic and manual trucks
• Handling: Heavy touch; strapping required
• Work Environment: On-site yard operations

Key Responsibilities

• Perform yard moves and support local and regional routes.
• Safely operate automatic and manual equipment.
• Secure loads using proper strapping techniques.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate logs and communicate effectively with dispatch.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• 2 years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience.
• Dry van equipment experience.
• Hazmat endorsement.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements.
