      Job Description

      CDL A Truck Recovery Driver - 48 States - $1,217/Wk
Location: Nationwide — 65 hiring markets
      Pay Rate: $63,284 per year

      Position Overview
Our client is hiring CDL-A drivers for a nationwide truck recovery fleet — a genuinely different driving job. Freight on this fleet is equipment recovery, no freight handling, running the 48 lower states. Drivers on this fleet run extended stretches before home time, which is what drives the mileage and the earnings.

      Key Responsibilities
      • You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally at all times, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring your hours of service, and keeping your logs accurate and current in accordance with federal regulations and company policy
      • You will transport freight on schedule across the 48 lower states, following assigned routes, planning fuel and rest stops sensibly, and communicating proactively with your fleet manager when weather, traffic, or a customer delay puts a delivery window at risk
      • Drivers are dispatched to recover a truck and move it to one of the company's locations
      • There is no customer freight involved
      • Drivers team roughly 5 to 10% of the time in order to reach a shop or recover a unit
      • Drivers must have a cell phone capable of taking photographs of trucks and emailing them to the fleet manager — documenting unit condition is part of the job
      • Freight handling is part of this role rather than an occasional extra
      • You will work the freight as described above, so a reasonable level of physical fitness and a willingness to stay active through the shift are genuine requirements, not preferences

      Requirements
      • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required, along with a minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
      • You must meet all Department of Transportation qualification requirements and hold a current DOT medical certification
      • An acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history are required
      • You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with all federal testing requirements throughout your employment
      • The role requires the physical capability to perform the freight handling described above, including repeated lifting, climbing in and out of the trailer, and sustained activity across a full shift
      • Hiring in 65 markets across the country, from Seattle and Los Angeles to Boston, Miami and everywhere between

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Prior dedicated account experience is preferred, particularly on fleets with consistent, repeating routes where familiarity with the lane and the customer builds real efficiency
      • A clean safety record, consistent on-time performance, and a track record of steady tenure with previous carriers all strengthen an application
      • Drivers who communicate well with dispatch, handle customer contact professionally, and take care of their equipment tend to do well on dedicated accounts like this one

      Screening Questions
      • How many years of experience do you have relevant to this CDL A Truck Recovery Driver - 48 States - $1,217/Wk role?
      • Do you hold any required licenses or certifications for this position?
      • Are you available to work onsite in Nationwide — 65 hiring markets?
