A day in this role

You roll in before sunrise, complete a thorough pre‑trip check, map your first stops across New Jersey and nearby Long Island, NY, and set out in a well‑maintained commercial vehicle. By early afternoon, you’re back—paperwork squared away and the truck ready for tomorrow—enjoying the predictability of a Monday–Friday rhythm.

Schedule & territory

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Home daily; no weekends
• Local deliveries throughout New Jersey with regular routes around Long Island, NY

What you’ll handle

• Conduct detailed pre‑ and post‑trip inspections (lights, fluids, tires, etc.) to ensure safety and full DOT compliance
• Drive a commercial vehicle to complete time‑sensitive local deliveries
• Sequence stops for efficiency, factoring traffic patterns, urgency, and cost
• Collect, verify, and maintain load paperwork, including bills of lading and shipping documents
• Secure freight; load and unload as needed while confirming counts against documentation
• Record mileage and hours accurately; maintain all required DOT logs
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with leasing/service partners
• Pitch in with shipping and warehouse tasks when not on the road

What you bring

• Valid CDL Class B
• Age 21+ (per DOT)
• Background as a route, delivery, or commercial truck driver preferred
• Solid command of DOT rules and safe driving practices
• Able to read maps, follow GPS, and navigate regional routes efficiently
• High school diploma or GED
• Comfort lifting, loading, and moving materials when needed
