CDL Class A Instructor

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate assigned driving operations regularly to students
• Oversee safe operation and use of equipment during student training
• Supervise trainees and maintain accurate documentation including attendance and training records
• Provide daily in-person instruction on full pre-trip inspection, basic control skills, and road driving
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and DOT regulations
• Monitor and enforce safety standards during all training activities

Required Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license with 5+ years of commercial truck driving experience
• DOT Medical Examiner Certificate and ability to pass DOT drug screenings
• Proven skills in student training, safety compliance, and record keeping
• Effective communication and leadership abilities
• Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and driving safety procedures
• Instructional skills to teach pre-trip inspection, driving control, and road skills
