Main Industries is currently hiring for a full-time CDL driver Class A for our Hampton location. No relocation or per diem available.
Responsibilities Transport equipment and materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Document and log workrest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel toll receipts. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods, as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents, or violations.
Additional Responsibilities Scaffold racking and stacking. Scaffolding handling in a chain line. Loading and unloading scaffolding from the truck and/or scaffold. Inventory management.
Job Type Full-time hourly
Required Experience Two years of experience as a CDL Driver.
Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Proven work experience as a truck driver. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software, including GPS AVL units, CB, etc. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable DOT truck driving rules and regulations. No recent moving or driving violations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations, traffic, weather conditions, etc. Willing to submit to background and drug checks, and provide employment recommendations. Valid truck driving license. Experience working in a physically demanding environment, confined spaces, and working at heights. Understand and carry out verbal directions given by supervisor. Understand and obey all posted warning, caution, notification, and/or hazards signs posted on a job site. Must be able to lift 70 lbs. without assistance. Forklift training and certification are a plus; additional training will be required once hired for those using a forklift. Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights of 50 feet. A criminal background check may be required. Current TWIC badge is a plus. Reliable transportation is a must. No overtime is guaranteed, but some projects may require overtime, which could be more than 40 hours during the normal Monday-Friday work week, work on the weekends, or both. Some projects may have a night shift. You will be expected to be at work on all days and nights assigned.
