The CDL Driver I delivers materials to job site, inspects and maintains truck, reports shortages and claims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials. Typically, driving a truck with a capacity of more than three tons, but may be a less experienced CDL or tractor trailer driver. What you will do \u2022 Operate safely. \u2022 Participate in a positive work environment. \u2022 Maintain a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License as required. \u2022 Prepare DOT required log of time on duty and driving. \u2022 Organize and secure load. \u2022 Assist forklift operators when loading. \u2022 Check orders for accuracy. \u2022 Deliver and unload materials to customers' satisfaction. \u2022 Complete daily equipment pre-inspection. \u2022 Record all merchandise that is returned by truck, assist in unloading material returned for credit. \u2022 Follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation. \u2022 Provide excellent customer service. \u2022 Relay messages sent by customers while on job. \u2022 Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned. \u2022 Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse. \u2022 Comply with all company policies and guidelines. \u2022 Operate truck mounted forklift safely and efficently. \u2022 Maintain cleanliness of truck. \u2022 Participate in and complete assigned trainings. Required For All Jobs \u2022 Perform other duties as assigned. \u2022 Comply with all policies and standards. \u2022 Adheres to Company's commitment to workplace safety. Education Qualifications \u2022 High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Qualifications \u2022 CDL experience preferred \u2022 Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required. \u2022 1-3 years CDL experience required for interstate commerce Skills and Abilities \u2022 Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms. \u2022 Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills. \u2022 Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems. \u2022 Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements. \u2022 Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques. \u2022 Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications). Licenses and Certifications \u2022 Class A CDL License required. \u2022 Class B CDL License required.
