Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver / Laborer to support telecom construction operations. This role is responsible for transporting equipment, materials, and crews to job sites while also assisting with underground and aerial telecommunications construction activities. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing physical labor as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CDL-required vehicles safely and in compliance with DOT regulations
Transport equipment, materials, and tools to and from job sites
Assist crews with telecom construction activities including:
Fiber installation
Conduit placement
Hand digging and potholing
Job site setup and cleanup
Loading and unloading materials
Operate hand tools and power tools safely
Assist with traffic control setup including cones, barricades, and signage
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation
Support equipment operators and construction crews as directed
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Work overtime and travel as needed
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Previous construction, utility, or telecom experience preferred
- Experience operating trailers, dump trucks, or equipment preferred
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in fiber optic or telecom construction
- Knowledge of underground utility locating practices
- Experience operating construction equipment such as loaders, excavators, or skid steers
- Traffic control certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing
- Ability to work long hours and travel to various job sites
- Ability to safely navigate active construction environments
