The CDL Driver’s primary responsibility is to safely transport products and equipment while adhering to regulations, maintaining vehicle integrity, and prioritizing the well-being of themselves and others on the road. This position will effectively and accurately load and unload and secure products and equipment. The CDL Driver will be responsible for inspections and reporting of any defects or maintenance issues.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions include:
Safely and efficiently operate a commercial vehicle, such as a tractor-trailer, straight truck, or other designated vehicle, to transport products or equipment to specified destinations. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Secure products and equipment using appropriate methods.
Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintain accurate records of all trips, including trip logs, fuel consumption, and any incidents or violations.
Communicate with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries.
Assist in rental department and yard as needed.
Offer support and assistance to coworkers during peak periods or in their absence.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education and Work Experience
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Valid Class A CDL driver’s license.
Previous experience with construction tools and equipment preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Clean driving record with no history of major violations, accidents, or DUI convictions.
Proven experience as a CDL Driver, preferably in a similar industry or with comparable equipment.
Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
Ability to read and interpret maps, GPS systems, and other navigational tools.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting is a plus.
Physical Capabilities Required:
Must be able to lift up to 100lbs at a time.
Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying heavy products and equipment as required. Ability to maintain a current medical card.
Ability to work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat and cold.
