JOB SUMMARY \nOperate transportation equipment for pick-up and delivery of machinery, parts, and similar loads. Operate trucks with or without trailers.\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n \nOperate, load, and unload parts and equipment to be hauled. \nEnsure that all loads are properly prepared, loaded and secured before the vehicle proceeds from each stop. Personally check and inspect the load. Perform a thorough check of the truck before and after each stop. \nProperly secure any loose timbers and ramps with chains when in transit. Personally remove and put away chains or straps when unloading. Prepare before and stow away after each trip, the vehicle, trailer, and all auxiliary equipment such as chains, straps, blocks, and gear. \nComply with all DOT, State and local traffic and highway laws, rules, and regulations. Safely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limits. \nTake pictures of questionable machine damage and report immediately. \nAssist in loading or unloading the trucks. Ensure all loads are properly prepared, loaded and secured to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while enroute. \nEnsure manifests are accurate and error free. All items transported are on the manifest. \nWork safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.\n \nADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\n \nMaintain company equipment by checking fuel, oil, water, tires, etc on truck and equipment before starting. All equipment is kept clean and maintained. Report hauling equipment operation trouble to the office. \nKeep driver\u2019s license and required CDL and all endorsements current. Notify supervisor of any driver license problems within one day. \nEnsure all required paperwork is properly completed within applicable time deadlines. \nWork extra hours and scheduled days off up to the limit permissible by DOT when requested by supervisor. \nWork within and promote corporate values.\n \nKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\n \nAppropriate manner, conduct, and grooming adhere to company policy. \nAbility to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.\n \nMust be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment. \nMust have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.\n \nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\n \nProof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). \nClean, current driving and safety record for the past 12 months. \nMust have current valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement*, Doubles/Triples endorsement, and Tanker endorsement prior to hire. \nMust be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.\n \nPHYSICAL DEMANDS \nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
