We are looking for a dependable and safety-driven Regional Passenger Transport Operator (CDL) to provide reliable transportation between designated service areas. In this role, you’ll combine professional driving skills with excellent customer service to ensure every passenger experience is safe, comfortable, and on time.
This position is ideal for professional drivers who enjoy engaging with the public, operating passenger vehicles, and making a positive impact by helping others reach their destinations.
As a Regional Passenger Transport Operator, you will represent our organization by delivering consistent, courteous, and safety-first transportation services every day.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation Operations
- Safely operate passenger vehicles on assigned routes and schedules
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws
- Maintain schedule reliability while prioritizing passenger safety
- Monitor traffic, road, and weather conditions to ensure safe travel
Passenger Support & Customer Experience
- Provide friendly, professional, and respectful service to all passengers
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles as needed
- Operate wheelchair lifts and ramps safely and effectively
- Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices following proper procedures
- Answer questions regarding routes, schedules, and services
- Communicate updates and make announcements when necessary
Vehicle Inspection & Upkeep
- Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Check critical systems such as brakes, lights, tires, mirrors, and safety equipment
- Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly
- Keep vehicles clean, organized, and ready for daily operation
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete required driver logs and operational records
- Accurately document incidents, accidents, or service issues
- Track ridership counts and submit required reports
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Clean driving record with a strong commitment to safety
- Previous experience in passenger transport, shuttle, or bus driving preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in dynamic situations
- Basic knowledge of vehicle safety checks and transportation procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to assist passengers and operate accessibility equipment
- Lift or move up to 45 pounds as needed
- Sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle
- Work comfortably in varying weather and road conditions
- Perform bending, reaching, climbing, and inspection tasks
Schedule
Split Shift:
- Morning Route: 5:00 AM – 8:00 AM
- Evening Route: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Availability for both shift segments is required.
