CDL Vacuum/Vactor Truck Operator (CDL A or B - Construction) Day Shift

Job description:OverviewWe are a high-paced company seeking a dependable and efficient Day Shift Vactor Operator who possesses strong physical and mental stamina and can handle long shifts. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in demanding environments. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience are required.Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate and drive a Vactor (vacuum) truck during daytime hours
• Operate vacuum and hydro-excavation equipment to clean, remove, and transport liquids, sludge, and debris
• Perform industrial cleaning services such as storm drains, sewer lines, lift stations, and catch basins
• Ensure all materials are safely contained, transported, and disposed of according to regulations
• Set up and break down hoses, vacuum lines, and related equipment
• Follow designated routes and schedules while maintaining efficiency and timeliness
• Communicate with dispatch and supervisors as needed
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections
• Monitor weather and site conditions prior to and during operations
• Maintain cleanliness of truck, tools, and work areas
• Perform routine maintenance (refueling, checking fluids, inspecting hoses, etc.)
• Report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or job site problems to management
• Accurately track and log working hours and job details
• Comply with all company policies and safety procedures
• Adhere to all DOT and applicable regulatory requirements
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety at all times

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required (Class A or B)
• Tanker and/or Hazmat endorsement preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• 5+ years of commercial driving or equipment operation experience preferred
• Clean driving record with no major violations
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Experience operating vacuum trucks, hydro-excavation equipment, Vac-Con, septic trucks, pump trucks or similar preferred
• Skilled in operating large, heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing manual labor
• Ability to work long overnight shifts in various weather conditions
• Comfortable working in industrial environments and around waste materials
• Proficient with GPS and route navigation systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Dependable, disciplined, and resourceful
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
