At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical infrastructure challenges. We are seeking an experienced CEI Inspector to join our Houston team. In this role, you will work alongside technical experts, Resident Engineers, Construction Managers, and project teams to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements and client expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys fieldwork, problem-solving, and contributing to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects that serve local communities.

Main Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of day-to-day construction work performed by the contractor.

Review and recommend acceptance or rejection of daily reports submitted by the contractor.

Perform inspection of the contractor's quality control procedures.

Perform material testing and verify that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.

Review material testing procedures and results for conformance with contract requirements and measure quantities of materials installed.

May be required to perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soils, aggregate base, concrete, asphalt, pipe bedding, backfill materials, and other construction materials associated with water, wastewater, and pipeline infrastructure projects.

Here's what you'll need

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience performing construction inspection on roadway or bridge infrastructure projects.
• CTQP Certification
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and quality control requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Houston area.

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

• A technical school graduate or have a degree related to Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience working with public-sector clients and utility owners.

The base salary range for this position is $35.00 to $50.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
