Description

Cell Leader - 2nd Shift

At New Flyer, we take pride in our commitment to building a sustainable future through innovation in public transportation. As a Cell Leader for the 2nd Shift, you will play a vital role in leading the team responsible for producing the highest quality transit buses.

Your leadership will inspire your team to meet production targets while promoting a safe and efficient work environment. You will be pivotal in our continuous improvement journey, ensuring that our lean practices are effectively implemented.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to within the cell, conducting regular safety assessments and ensuring all team members are trained in safe work procedures.
  • Facilitate and lead initiatives for Operational Excellence (OPEX), including maintaining an organized workspace through 5S principles and performing regular audits.
  • Maintain quality output by leading self-inspections and managing any materials that are flagged for quality issues, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead daily production meetings focused on achieving team goals, discussing metrics, and identifying areas for improvement while ensuring cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Effectively manage the production schedule, including coordinating shift changes, overtime, and ensuring adequate staffing levels through cross-training initiatives.
  • Address personnel issues promptly, conducting daily stand-up meetings to foster open communication and support team members' professional development.
  • Maintain records related to time management, attendance, and performance reviews, collaborating with the Human Resources department as needed.
  • Support the Collective Bargaining Agreement, ensuring that all interactions with team members comply with established protocols and agreements.
  • Must be able to work Monday - Thursday - 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM

Benefits

  • Salary $75,000 - $85,000 per year
