About Autolus
Autolus is a biopharmaceutical company, advancing innovative therapies at both clinical and commercial stages of development, focused on next-generation, programmed T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer. Using a broad suite of proprietary and modular T cell programming technologies, the company is engineering precisely targeted, controlled, and highly active T cell therapies designed to better recognize cancer cells, break down their defence mechanisms, and eliminate these cells. Autolus has a pipeline of product candidates in development for the treatment of haematological malignancies, solid tumours, and autoimmune diseases.
Role Summary
The Vice President, Cell Therapy at Autolus will serve as a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the regional director's managing the Autolus CTAEs and the development of Autolus' corporate relationships with Authorized Treatment Centers (ATCs). This individual must have demonstrated success in all respects of demand creation, i.e., technical knowledge, demand creation techniques, interpreting/analyzing data, and an in-depth understanding of medical field and pharmaceutical industry.
A pivotal aspect of the role is to lead with purpose, emphasizing a patient-focused, customer-focused, and people-focused approach. The Vice President of Cell Therapy will consistently align brand strategy with execution in a thoughtful and purposeful manner, aiming to achieve results that surpass conventional expectations.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Recruits top-tier field leaders from the industry, and oversees the recruitment, training, development, retention, and leadership of the broader cell therapy team.
- Creates, establishes, and maintains a collaborative Autolus US commercial culture
- Collaborate closely with the analytics team/ BAI to understand and leverage available data for strategic and tactical actions across the cell therapy organization.
- Works with regional leaders and teams to create learning plans, recommends training and development solutions, and provides mentoring and coaching as appropriate.
- Work as a strategic partner with the marketing team to ensure alignment between strategy and execution.
- Deeply understand and contribute to insights guiding brand strategies and promotional plans.
- Ability to appropriately balance the Autolus Leadership Areas of Focus: CTAE Team Leadership/vision; Day-to-day Team and ATC business development, Demand creation.
- Clearly communicates expectations, strategic direction internally and externally.

- Develops and maintains solid customer relationships with key executives, decision-influencers and decision-makers at major centers, clinics, and other accounts.

- Oversee staff onboarding , national and regional meetings, teleconferences, and compliance training.
- Accountable for brand performance, ensuring the achievement of launch goals and long-term performance targets.
- Provides counseling and coaching to the CTAE Regional Leadership and CTAE team, responsible for enhancing their demand creation skills, developing expert product and disease state knowledge, customer focus and increasing skills in time management and resource allocation.
- Clearly defines roles, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes for all activities of specialist team. Regularly measures successes and provides feedback on performance.
- Takes a lead role in representing company at professional events and promotes company products at such events.
- Utilizes high level of business acumen in analyzing and coordinating activities from identified industry trends, competitor resources, and best practices.
- Utilizes exceptional project management skills to lead cross-functional projects with broad organizational impact.
- Ensures strict compliance, both in own behavior and team behavior upholding Autolus commercial compliance policies and SOP's.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree, including +15 years' commercial experience.
- Clinical expertise in hematology/oncology disease - preferably BMT/CART/Leukemia.
- Successfully demonstrates the ability to lead regional leaders responsible for customer facing teams (4+ years' experience).
- Demonstrated ability to successfully launch cell therapy products in a competitive marketplace.
- Strong working knowledge of market access landscape and cascading referral networks.
- Geographic knowledge of targeted academic and non-academic CAR-T centers.
- Proven history of leading cross functional teams and cultivating a collaborative culture.
- Experienced in the development of national, regional and market specific business plans.
- Ability to accommodate extensive overnight travel (60%).
