The ideal candidate will meet all Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) licensing requirements and bring strong leadership skills, regulatory knowledge, and a deep commitment to excellence in early childhood education.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the center, ensuring compliance with CT OEC licensing standards
- Supervise, support, and evaluate teaching and support staff
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, children, staff, and the community
- Manage enrollment, budgeting, and administrative tasks
- Increase enrollment through community outreach, marketing, center tours, and participation in local events, fairs, and family-oriented programs
- Ensure health, safety, and nutrition standards are met (including coordination of on-site meal planning and preparation)
Qualifications:
- Must meet Connecticut OEC qualifications for Center Director:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required)
- At least 6 years of experience in an early childhood setting, with at least 2 year in a supervisory or leadership role
- Knowledge of Connecticut childcare licensing regulations and NAEYC standards
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage a team and build a positive center culture
- Certificate or Familiarity with food safety guidelines and meal planning in childcare settings (preferred)
