Detailed Work Schedule Tutors perform 4-10 weekly hours which will include tasks like:

• Tutoring in Speaking and Presentation skills
• Staffing tabling events
• Running workshops
• Performing class visits

Position Summary Job Description Summary:

• Run tutoring sessions for public speakers.
• Session types approx. 60-minutes in length focused on a single area or combination depending on individual needs.
• Technologies competency with WCOnline tutor scheduling platform.
• Topics covered during a session may include audience analysis, eye contact, vocal projection, managing speaking anxiety, critiquing visual aids, etc.
• Attending monthly tutor training events.
• Presenting workshops and class visits.
• Staffing resource fair tables (three events annually: August, February, April).

Requirements

• Must be a COM major.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above.
• Provide contact information of at least one Villanova faculty member who can provide an endorsement.
• Must have completed Public Speaking class by start date for the semester.

Additional Information

• Past peer mentoring or peer tutoring experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demands Summary

• Being physically on campus to run sessions out of Falvey Library.

Wage Rate

• $11.25/hour
