Description

Job Summary: The Central Access Coordinator 1 (CAC) manages and performs client screening and intake functions. Flexibility and effective time management practices, sound organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasking are a must. They must be able to establish and maintain professional relationships with external referents. They must possess a high level of crisis tolerance, and the ability to work through crisis situations in a professional and positive manner. Must be able to perform duties involving light lifting and possess an ability to sit for long periods of time.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Process and screen paperwork for clients being referred to PV programs.
  2. Conduct interviews and potential referral resources for clients and referents.
  3. Correspond with referral agencies regarding intake candidates and client transportation to program.
  4. Responsible for maintaining and processing the program's waiting list.
  5. Work with URS to obtain funding for all admissions and the collection of documents for incorporation into client files (assessments, insurance information, etc.,)
  6. Maintain current information regarding both county and HMO referral procedures.
  7. Coordinate admissions with referring agents, residential staff and housing staff.
  8. Responsible for disbursement and completion of all intake paperwork (i.e., consent forms, program policies).
  9. Maintain a list of referring agents along with contact information.
  10. Provide program information to referral sources/agencies.
  11. Participate in speaking engagements or workshop presentations, as requested. Perform public relations/marketing duties for programs.
  12. Develop and maintain good working relationship with all Progress Valley ancillary programs/services.
  13. Ensure self-development by attending seminars, conferences, etc., to keep apprised of new methods and procedures.
  14. Participate in clinical and program staff meetings, as required or directed.
  15. Follow all program policies and procedures.
  16. Collect and report client and program statistical and demographic data.
  17. Maintain favorable driving record (favorable is left to the interpretation of the employer and any agent acting on behalf of the employer.)
  18. Collect urinalysis samples and perform breath analysis tests to clients, as needed.
  19. Performs other Duties as assigned or required.

Authority:

Has the authority to admit clients with input from clinical staff or in emergency situations.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum two (2) years direct experience in chemical health field or administration of direct services to individuals with chemical use problems.
  • Working knowledge of chemical dependency treatment continuum.
  • Must be able to pass DHS Rule 11 background check.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to structure time well and develop priorities.
  • Minimum 2-yrs free from chemical use problems, if applicable.
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Positive driving record (periodic review of driving record required).
  • Valid state driver's license.

Physical Requirements: Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Ability to communicate, converse with and exchange information

Salary Description

$25.00/hour +DOE
