Painter
12-month hourly employee
Days of Work: Monday- Friday
Times of Shift: 1st or 2nd shift
Please note work days and hours are subject to change due to project availability or emergency situations.
Job Summary:
- Perform surface preparation prior to painting to include sanding, minor patching, and removal of wall mounted items.
- Identify surface coatings and provide materials list needed to complete assignments.
- Provide coverings and taping procedures needed to maintain quality housekeeping in areas of work.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor..
Qualifications:
- Skilled in all aspects of interior/exterior decorating.
- Possess safety habits and skills while performing painting duties.
- Must be capable of understanding instructions and physically able to perform assigned tasks.
- Experienced in painting various surfaces, drywall, wood, metal, plaster and block
- Capable of doing wall prep and repairs to the above surfaces
- Comfortable with heights and able to work on ladders, scaffold, and various lifts
- Comfortable working independently or part of a team
- Capable of projecting timelines to insure on time project completion
- Self-motivated and have good attendance
- Possess strong capabilities of self-direction.
Working Conditions:
Is under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and the Director of Purchasing and Facilities. Daily activities are directed by the Lead District Painter.
Terms of Employment
Twelve months. Salary and benefits to be established by the agreement between the Board of Education and the District 211 Operations Maintenance Group.
