Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join UCLA Health and play a vital role in supporting the world-class care our patients receive every day. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Central Service Technician 2 to ensure our medical centers and ambulatory clinics are fully equipped with the supplies and resources needed to deliver exceptional patient care.

In this hands-on role, you will help maintain the efficient flow of medical supplies across multiple clinical locations. Working closely with healthcare teams, you will manage inventory, coordinate supply distribution, and support critical operations that keep patient care running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, stock, and distribute medical and procedural supplies throughout UCLA Health facilities and community clinics.
• Monitor inventory levels, maintain par levels, and update supply management systems to ensure product availability.
• Place replenishment orders and reconcile deliveries to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Assist with inventory optimization initiatives focused on improving efficiency and reducing supply costs.
• Assemble custom procedure packs and specialty supply kits to support clinical operations.
• Maintain accurate billing and inventory documentation.
• Research and track back-ordered or delayed items while identifying alternative solutions to meet clinical needs.
• Transport supplies between facilities as needed to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

Job Qualifications

Required:

• Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to comply with healthcare regulations for infection control, including masking.
• Self-starter with effective time management and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work as a team in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to changes in workload, assignments, and schedules across different shifts and weekends.
• Organized to stay current in required HR online competency classes on policy and safety between tasks.
• Consistently maintain a safe, clean working environment and report unsafe acts or conditions.
• A high proficiency in English to articulate issues, concerns, and responses verbally and electronically.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with clinical interruptions for supply requests.
• Actively participates in Quality Management and PIE programs.; adheres to Materials Management and UCLA policies/procedures.
• Ability to attend all workshops, classes, drills, etc as requested.
• Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
• 1 - year minimum experience

Preferred:

• Previous hospital, purchasing, accounting, inventory stocking / tracking experience.
• Experience with electronic ordering using a handheld.
• Experience managing orders and optimizing inventory pars with Lawson, WaveMark or any ERP.
