The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The manager oversees all operations as it pertains to the sterilization and decontamination, cleaning, distribution, and maintenance of all dental, surgical and related instrumentation utilized throughout GSDM Treatment Centers. Oversee operations for clinical instrument sterilization, including direct supervision of staff. The Central Sterilization Manger is responsible to assess, manage and oversee the day to day operations of Central Sterilization ensuring proper sterilization and infection control practices are being utilized, and distribution of dental instruments, cassettes and materials are in compliance with infection control standards. The Manager will ensure best practices are followed by all staff through the adherence of Standard Operating Procedures. The Central Sterilization Manager will be required to create, review, or update SOP''s and provide the necessary training to staff. The Manager will consult and collaborate with Infection Prevention Manager on continuous infection prevention methods and practices. The Manager is responsible to maintain a safe environment for staff and students by conducting safety checks of equipment. The manager will be an active member of the Infection Control Committee.

  • Manage the decontamination, cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing of instruments used in treatment centers, including identifying, documenting, and reporting equipment in need of repair, as well as organizing and assembling instrument trays.
  • Develop an environment that fosters teamwork and provides excellent customer service, which includes interacting with students, residents, staff, and faculty on various operational matters.
  • Manage sterilization staff of six and area, ensuring adequate coverage across shifts and that procedures are followed as written.
  • Oversee with refining, updating, and communicating policies and procedures as needed.
  • Responsible for directing, controlling, and hiring staff for the Central Sterilization area.
  • The incumbent determines, approves, and monitors staffing needs, utilization, performance evaluations, and training.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor''s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years experience working in similar role
  • Previous supervisory/management experience in a similar role
  • Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) required
  • Must have good understanding of HIPAA, OSHA and CDC recommendations and requirements.
