The teacher will facilitate student development of industry-aligned technical proficiency, 21st-century employability skills, and academic integration. The instructor will guide students in exploring relevant career pathways, developing individual post-secondary plans (such as the High School and Beyond Plan), and obtaining industry-recognized credentials where applicable. Provide information and structured experiences that expose students equally to all post-secondary pathways (e.g., skilled trades, military, certificates, and degree programs) and support components of the High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP). Maintain an up-to-date awareness of high-demand, high-wage jobs at local, regional, state, and global levels; integrate local employers and industry guest speakers to illuminate local career opportunities. Integrate leadership development and 21st-century employability skills directly into daily classroom instruction, activities, and project-based learning. Serve as an advisor for or maintain an active, state-recognized Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that participates and competes at the regional, state, and/or national level. Coordinate and meet three or more times annually with a dedicated Program Advisory Committee composed of local business and industry partners to secure valuable program feedback and input.
