Investment Casting Ceramic Engineer
The Company is a leading international manufacturer of specialist superalloys and high-precision alloy components with manufacturing facilities all over the world. The organization serves as a leader in the development and production of precision cast components for the aerospace industry.
Job Description
Design, evaluate, and modify ceramic molds and cores to meet manufacturing and customer requirements. Develop and optimize ceramic materials, formulations, and processing methods for investment casting applications. Provide technical expertise related to ceramic materials, manufacturability, and process performance. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality. Perform testing, analysis, and validation of ceramic materials and processes. Ensure compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. Investigate process issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Support the introduction of new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes. Develop process documentation, standards, and best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, yield, and operational performance.

The Successful Applicant
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
- Strong understanding of ceramic materials, processing techniques, and material characterization
- Analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working with process improvement and quality control methodologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and manufacturing requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in investment casting or foundry operations
- Knowledge of ceramic shell systems and core manufacturing processes
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and process control methodologies
- Experience supporting new product introduction and process development initiatives
