Job Description

Trifecta Proven is recruiting for a Certified Athletic Trainer (C-AT) to provide services at the Oregon Air National Guard in Portland, OR. This opening is part of the Optimizing the Human Weapon System initiative. The C-AT will be an integral part of the team aiming to reduce the frequency and severity of neck and back pain injuries, reduce duty time lost, improve quality of life, enhance readiness and support fighter aircrew retention. The C-AT will specifically work to reduce injury rates and increase the rate of fighter aircrew fully mission capable status. 

 

Hours: Monday thorugh Friday, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Responsibilities

 

  1. Provide preventative exercise measures and pre-habilitation services. Provide specific non-invasive biometric and physiological evaluations to all authorized individuals. Follwing biometric and physiological evaluations the C-AT will provide rehabilitation and flexibility services, specific to the Spinal musculature.
  2. Be available to perform just-in-time post-flight treatments to aircrew returning from daily flying.
  3. Develop individualized program for each member served. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary group including athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coach and others.
  4. Guide ongoing implementation of the individualized program. Monitor progress and continually reassess and adjust individualized program to ensure member is making the best progress possible.
  5. Develop and maintain a library of all standard rehabilitation and pre-habilitation protocols used in the perfromance of this contract.
  6. When necessary due to the Human Weapon System travel the contractor shall develop and deliver a remote training plan tailored to the individual's needs and available equipment.
  7. Advise unit commanders of administrative matters, purchasing of supplies and equipment and supplemental fiscal requests related to interventions and professional services provided.
  8. Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure that the OHWS program continues to improve as our understanding of injury prevention evolves.
  9. Communicate with the servicing military treament facility when an aircrew member has a medical condition or injury requiring medical care.
  10. Refer fighter aircrew personnel with a new duty-limiting condition to the servicing military treatment facility.
  11. Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment and contribute to a safe working environmnet.
  12. Attend annual required training in accordance with guiding instructions.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of an Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Excercise Science or related discipline.

Licensure: Hold a current, unrestricted license to practice as an Athletic Trainer.

Certification: Possess a certification as an athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Experience: Experience working with professional and/or collegiate athletes or equivalent. A minimum of two (2) years' experience is preferred. Past expereince working with combat-related injuries is strongly preferred.
