Accurately assigns ICD-10 codes to diagnoses and CPT codes to procedures respectively for reimbursement integrity and research purposes. Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology required.
Minimum of 3-5 years previous inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting is required.
Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H is required.
Keyboard/typing skills, with a minimum of 45 wpm, are necessary.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement.
Active CCS/CPC certification is also required.
This is for an inpatient coding position and must have experience to be considered, not an entry-level position.
Associates Degree and/or 3-5 years experience in inpatient coding are a must.
