Responsibilities
Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring sterile technique and instrument handling.
Prepare the operating room, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
Monitor and manage instrument counts to prevent retained items.
Adhere to hospital policies, quality metrics, and performance targets in daily tasks.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with post-operative documentation.
Collaborate with team to ensure efficiency and meet surgical timelines.
Participate in sterile technique training and ongoing professional development.
Assist with patient positioning and comfort while maintaining safety.
Assist in pre-operative patient assessment and consent verification as directed.
Maintain inventory and restock sterile supplies; track usage and order as needed.
Support post-anesthesia transition by ensuring clean and organized recovery area.
Demonstrate adaptability to evolving procedures and pipeline-based planning.
Experience/Qualifications
First Assist Scrub Tech for a 13 week assignment. Must be experience in First Assist Scrub Tech for a 13 week assignment. Must be experience in general, podiatry and orthopedics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technician Program AND First Assist Program
Requires a current Certification as a Surgical Technician/First Assist. BLS Certification is required.
Requires a knowledge level typically obtained with two (2) years of Surgical Technician experience.
