As a Certified Flagger, you'll help ensure safe traffic flow around active work zones. You'll work closely with construction crews to manage traffic, set up work zones, and support fiber installation efforts in various outdoor environmentssometimes remote or challenging terrains. Your role is vital in safeguarding workers and the public, contributing directly to the development of reliable internet services in the community.
What You'll Do
As a certified flagger, you will be responsible for:
Directing traffic safely using signs, signals, and flagging devices
Setting up and dismantling flagging stations daily to create secure work zones
Transporting flagging materials, tools, and fiber reels to different sites
Handling fiber reels and related equipment, including lifting and spinning as needed
Maintaining a clean, organized work area and adhering to safety protocols
Navigating remote or uneven terrain to access work sites
Assisting team members with materials and minor site tasks
Following all safety guidelines and regulations to protect yourself and others
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
The physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs, including bending, pushing, and pulling
A valid Flagging Certification, to be carried at all times during work
Stamina to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day
Dependability, a strong work ethic, and punctuality
Ability to bring your own lunch and water during long shifts
A valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance (as driving company vehicles may be required)
Ability to pass a drug screening prior to employment
