PAY RANGE: $53,150-$61,730
JOB SUMMARY NON-UNION
The Certified Health Information Management Technician is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of medical record documentation by performing various technical duties including physician & patient support, record analysis, master patient index maintenance, medical record merges, release of information & audit support, document imaging & scanning, and other functions.
TYPICAL DUTIES
This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCH Personnel Rules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in health information technology or health information administration from an accredited college or university. (Must provide official transcripts at time of interview)
Credentialed by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). (Must provide credentialed at time of interview)
Two (2) years of experience in Health Information Management
Prior experience using and understanding Medical Terminology
Experience working with Electronic Health Record systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

This position is functioning within a healthcare environment. The incumbent is responsible for adherence to all hospital and department specific safety requirements. This includes but is not limited to the following policies and procedures: complying with Personal Protective Equipment requirements, hand washing and sanitizing practices, complying with department specific engineering and work practice controls and any other work area safety precautions as specified by hospital wide policy and departmental procedures.
