Certified Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in repairing and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery. This role is crucial in ensuring that our equipment operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of our operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, farm machinery, and diesel engines.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Conduct inspections on air brake systems and other critical components to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Utilize soldering skills for electrical repairs as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Collaborate with other technicians to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines while performing tasks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work on various machinery types.
• Familiarity with automotive repair, including suspension systems and transmission work.
• Experience in diesel engine repair is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license may be required based on job duties.
• MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TOOLS!
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methods in the field.
