Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation and examination of tissue samples, contributing to accurate diagnoses and patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology within both clinical and research laboratory settings.


Responsibilities


  • Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
  • Perform histological staining and embedding of samples.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist in specimen collection processing, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures and results.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality control measures to uphold laboratory standards.
Skills


  • Proficient knowledge of pathology and laboratory procedures.
  • Experience with aseptic techniques in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to histology and pathology.
  • Ability to perform specimen collection processing, including phlebotomy when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
