Nurse Next Door Central Valley & Bay Area is seeking compassionate, dependable, and client-focused Certified Home Health Aides (HHA) to join our growing team. As a Home Health Aide, you will provide hands-on personal care and support services to clients in the comfort of their homes while working under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
This position is ideal for caregivers who are passionate about making lives better, promoting independence, and delivering high-quality care with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene support
Assist with feeding, meal preparation, and hydration reminders
Support mobility, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises
Take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure
Observe and report physical, emotional, or behavioral changes to the supervising nurse
Assist clients with medication reminders and self-administration support
Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy home environment
Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and bed linen changes
Transport clients to appointments, errands, and community activities as needed
Follow infection control protocols and Universal Precautions
Accurately document care provided and client observations
Respond appropriately in emergency situations
Protect client privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and rights at all times
Qualifications
Current California Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification
Active status on the California Home Health Aide Registry
Completion of a CDPH-approved HHA training program
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year caregiving or home care experience preferred
CPR certification preferred
Current TB clearance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, professional, and dependable demeanor
Ability to work independently and as part of a care team
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, twist, push, and pull
Ability to assist with transfers and mobility support
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in varying home environments
