Description
Join our team as an evening shift (1430-2300), fulltime, Certified Instrument Tech, at INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
HSPA-CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) OR HSPA-CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) OR HSPA-CER (Certified Endoscope Reprocessor) OR CBSPD-CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician)
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
2 years of experience preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies
2 years of experience working with specialty instrument sets such as cardiovascular sets, robotic sets, trauma sets, and or vascular sets

The Instrument Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensures that all instruments are rapidly decontaminated for turnover procedures and that instrument sets are assembled according to count sheets.
Completes the necessary processes for sterilization; keeps records of cleaning of all steam sterilizers in the department.
Assembles and maintains sterilization charts for the following sterilizers: steam, automated reprocessors, and low temperature sterilizers.
Performs an inventory review and orders and restocks the supplies needed for the autoclaving processes.
Determines the need for and the replacement of routine instruments and initiates repairs and purchase orders with director approval.
Assists in the education onboarding of new employees and participates in annual review of competencies.
Assists with calling vendors to make sure correct vendor trays arrive at the facility in time for proper sterilization.
Assists in checking the surgery schedule to verify required trays are in the facility/sterile.
