Position overview:

Troubleshoot and repair/service vessel engines, vessels and vessel trailers as directed and assigned under the contract.

 

 Position Responsibilities:

Typical duties include but are not limited to the following. Specific duties vary by assignment.

  • Maintain required qualifying certifications for the job title.
  • Computer literacy to use all functions of manufacturer software.
  • Purchase and maintain a tool set to perform the job function.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections as directed and outlined on GMS service forms.
  • Complete service bulletins as needed from manufacturers or GMS.
  • Troubleshoot and repair vessel components, systems, engines and trailers.
  • Complete warranty repairs.
  • Mentor and shadow learning technicians and helpers.
  • Perform other support duties as directed for vessels, vessel systems and trailers.
  • Practices good housekeeping and tool control. Maintain awareness of the safety program at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned. This is not a list of every task expected.

 

Position Requirements:

Have certification from major marine engine manufacturer.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or balance for extended periods of time.

Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.

Be able to operate a forklift (if required) and other motor vehicle.
