The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers as part of a collaborative care team, helping ensure quality patient care and efficient patient flow.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain/document vital signs, height, and weight.
Collect and process laboratory specimens and maintain accurate EHR documentation.
Schedule referrals and maintain referral tracking.
Assist providers with medications, immunizations, injections, diagnostic orders, and routine prescription refills as directed.
Initiate and update Care Plans and Advanced Directives according to PCMH protocols.
Provide approved patient education and assist with provider-requested patient callbacks.
Maintain daily EHR worklists and clinic tracking systems.
Prepare and stock exam rooms and clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment.
Follow infection-control policies and procedures.
Participate in CQI activities, staff meetings, and required training.
Maintain patient confidentiality and provide professional, respectful patient care.
May work at other Ampla Health locations as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program required.
