Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a busy outpatient specialty practice. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for candidates interested in transitioning to a permanent position. The ideal candidate will require minimal training, possess strong clinical and patient care skills, and be able to contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
  • Perform clinical duties including injections, specimen collection, EKGs, and other delegated tasks within scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow.
  • Educate patients regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies.
  • Deliver exceptional patient-centered care while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Support physicians and practice leadership in meeting quality, operational, and patient satisfaction goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient or physician practice setting.
  • Strong clinical and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and EMR experience.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Epic EMR experience.
  • Experience working in a specialty medical practice.
  • Previous experience with Penn Medicine is a plus (employment history must be disclosed).

Work Schedule

  • Clinic hours range between 6:45 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday extended hours until 8:00 PM
  • Medical Assistants must remain until the physician has completed patient care for the day.
  • Work schedules are provided one week in advance.
  • Virtual 4-hour EMR training on Fridays during onboarding.
