Medical Assistant – Vascular Surgery

Contract: 8 weeks with possible extensions up to 520 hours

Position Overview

Client  is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) to support a Vascular Surgery practice in Doylestown, PA. This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity, and candidates must be interested in converting to a permanent staff position following successful completion of the contract.

The ideal candidate will have a strong medical background, excellent attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Experience in a specialty or surgical environment is highly preferred, as vascular surgery involves complex diagnoses, procedures, and clinical workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.

• Obtain and document vital signs and patient medical histories.

• Assist physicians with procedures, testing, and clinical examinations.

• Perform EKGs and injections as required.

• Collect, process, and properly handle patient specimens.

• Assist patients with mobility and transportation when needed.

• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and sterilization standards.

• Ensure accurate patient documentation and compliance with safety and infection-control procedures.

• Support efficient patient flow and provide excellent patient and family service.

• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.

• Assist with pre-certifications and other administrative/clinical workflows.

• May assist with training new staff or interns.

• Support department workflow improvements and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of Medical Assistant experience.

• Strong clinical/medical background.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Willingness to learn vascular diagnoses, procedures, treatment plans, and specialty-specific workflows.

• Must be interested in converting to a permanent Penn Medicine position.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC/PennChart experience is highly preferred.

• Previous experience in vascular surgery, surgery, specialty clinics, or other complex medical environments.

• Experience with EKGs, injections, specimen collection, and patient preparation.

Additional Information

• This is a Temp-to-Hire position.

• Candidates must be comfortable with potential permanent conversion.

• Education from Stepful will not be accepted.
