Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Position Summary
Talantage is seeking Certified Medical Assistants to support clinical operations by assisting healthcare providers, performing patient care activities, and delivering exceptional customer service in a public health clinic environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Greet and register patients.
  • Obtain and record vital signs.
  • Collect patient medical histories.
  • Perform pregnancy testing and STI screening under provider supervision.
  • Prepare patients for examinations.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
  • Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, and telephone support.
  • Maintain Electronic Health Record documentation.
  • Provide health education materials to patients.
  • Assist with clinic setup and inventory management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or certificate of completion.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current TB screening and immunization records.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Seven-year criminal background clearance.
  • Experience in outpatient, women's health, family practice, or public health preferred.

Preferred Qualifications (All Positions)
  • Experience working in public health, community health, family planning, or reproductive health.
  • Experience administering immunizations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and infection prevention standards.
  • Proficiency using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent, compassionate, patient-centered care.
