Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
**Job Summary:**
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) provides safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the CMA administers medications, assists with activities of daily living, monitors resident conditions, documents care, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote quality resident outcomes.
**Requirements:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in the state of practice.
* Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred or required per facility policy.
* Current BLS certification preferred.
* Recent long-term care (LTC), skilled nursing (SNF), rehabilitation, or dementia care experience preferred.
**Responsibilities:**
* Administer medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
* Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding as needed.
* Observe, monitor, and report changes in resident condition to the licensed nurse.
* Accurately document medications, treatments, and resident care.
* Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as assigned.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment while following infection prevention and resident safety standards.
* Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide quality resident care.
* Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with all regulatory requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
