Certified Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers by delivering direct patient care, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining accurate electronic medical records, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality.

• Room patients by obtaining vital signs, chief complaints, medical history, and documenting symptoms, frequency, and severity.
• Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Administer injections, immunizations, and other treatments as directed by the healthcare provider.
• Assist physicians and providers during examinations and medical procedures.
• Perform Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) and complete required quality control procedures.
• Coordinate laboratory testing by tracking ordered tests and ensuring timely receipt of results.
• Manage prescription refills, patient referrals, lab result communication, and patient follow-up through the EMR system.
• Respond to patient questions and provide accurate information while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms between patients and maintain a safe, organized clinical environment.
• Perform instrument sterilization, autoclave operation, and reprocessing of scopes and probes following competency validation.
• Monitor and maintain medical supplies, equipment inventory, and assist with clinic upkeep.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Remain calm and professional during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
• Comply with OSHA regulations, infection prevention standards, and all organizational policies.
• Travel and provide support at multiple clinic locations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
