Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Department: Pediatric Primary Care
Location: Neptune, NJ 07754
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
Duration: 43 Weeks (Contract)


Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical and administrative functions in a pediatric primary care setting. This role works under the supervision of a licensed medical provider to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and procedures
  • Record vital signs and document patient medical histories
  • Administer pediatric immunizations as required
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG, PFT, and audiometry (as applicable)
  • Conduct phlebotomy, urine drug screening (UDS), breath alcohol testing (BAT), and other lab procedures upon competency validation
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Perform medication reconciliation and assist with follow-up on lab/test results
  • Educate patients and families on preventive care and health maintenance
  • Support front-office duties including scheduling, patient intake, demographics, and basic billing functions
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, policies, and patient confidentiality standards

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (pediatrics preferred)
  • Proficiency in taking vital signs, patient rooming, and administering pediatric immunizations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

Certifications & Licensure

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) – Required
  • One of the following certifications required:
    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA – NHA, NCCT, or AAMA)
    • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA – AMT or NAHP)
    • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA – AMCA)
