    Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

    Location: Albert Lea, MN
    Shift Type: Day Shift
    Schedule: 4 days per week
    Hours: 36 hours per week
    Working Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

    Shift Schedule

    • Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
    • Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care, perform clinical procedures, maintain accurate medical records, and assist with front-office operations to ensure efficient clinic workflow and a positive patient experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet, prepare, and room patients while maintaining a positive patient experience.
    • Obtain and accurately document vital signs, including:
      • Blood pressure
      • Pulse
      • Temperature
      • Height
      • Weight
    • Perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, and blood draws.
    • Collect, label, process, and handle specimens according to established procedures.
    • Administer vaccines and assist with clinical procedures as directed by providers.
    • Perform EKGs.
    • Conduct point-of-care (POC) testing.
    • Assist with patient scheduling and appointment coordination.
    • Answer phones and support patient check-in/check-out.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
    • Support both front-office and back-office clinical operations.
    • Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
    • Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and administrative staff.
    • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and clinic policies and procedures.
    • Prioritize tasks and support the clinical team in a fast-paced environment.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience, excluding externship experience.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Hands-on experience with phlebotomy and venipuncture.
    • Experience with specimen collection and handling.
    • Experience using EMR systems.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred.
    • Occupational Health experience preferred.
    • Experience working in both front-office and back-office clinical settings.
    • Experience performing EKGs.
    • Experience with vaccinations.
    • Experience with point-of-care testing.
