Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)Position PurposeUnder the direction of a licensed medical provider, the Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient clinical operations.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform patient interviews and obtain relevant health informationPrepare patients for provider care and examinationsMeasure vital signs; observe, report, and document patient signs and symptoms in the medical recordPrepare and maintain treatment rooms for patient examinationsProvide basic first aid as neededPerform basic laboratory procedures and/or collect routine laboratory specimens within scope of practiceAssist patients with ambulation and the use of assistive devicesParticipate in individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare teamMaintain complete, accurate, and timely patient recordsEnsure a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with healthcare regulationsAdhere to infection control standards, hospital policies, and departmental proceduresMonitor equipment functionality and assist with inventory managementAdapt to change and support workplace initiatives in a positive and professional mannerWork irregular or extended hours as requiredWear personal protective equipment (PPE) as directedPerform other duties as assignedEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredSuccessful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program requiredLicenses/CertificationsCurrent BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification requiredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) requiredExperienceOne (1) year of clinical experience strongly preferredWork ConditionsThis position regularly involves exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens and direct patient contact in a variety of situations. The role may include exposure to unpleasant elements such as injuries, illness, and chemicals. Candidates must be able to manage emergency, crisis, or high-pressure situations, handle frequent interruptions, and work varying or irregular hours. Sound judgment is required, as actions may directly impact patient outcomes.
