Certified Medical Assistant Coach (Remote)

The Certified Medical Assistant Coach assists in the coordination of post discharge care to reduce admissions and readmissions. The Certified Medical Assistant Coach functions in a virtual setting and is part of a remote care team which collaborates with physicians, mid-level providers, staff, and other health care professionals to provide the best care across the health care continuum. This role serves as an integral member of the health care team who works to ensure safety, best practice and high-quality standards of care are maintained across the continuum.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Location: Remote, with initial on-site training in Charlotte or Winston-Salem

What We're Looking For

• 2 years of CMA experience in a family/general practice clinic as opposed to specialized clinics, highly preferred.

• Candidates located in the Charlotte or Triad areas, highly preferred.

• Education:

• High School Diploma or GED, required.

• Experience:

• 2 years, required.

• Licensure/Certification:

• Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, required.

• Additional Skills (required):

• Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program that includes an externship in a clinical setting; Medical Assistant curriculum must include pharmacology and medication. A fully online medical assistant program for the entire curriculum is not approved. Certification/registration accepted: CMA with the American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA), RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) and RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).

• Appropriate customer service, effective and appropriate customer relations, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and computer literacy. Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing. Has the ability to interpret information and identify each patient's requirement for care relative to his/her age specific need. Has the knowledge and skill necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age.
