Are you a compassionate, patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) looking to make a meaningful impact? Novant Health Gilead Pediatrics & Internal Medicine is seeking a dedicated CMA to join our collaborative team and help deliver exceptional care to patients of all ages.
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in coordinating and assisting providers to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care. You'll work alongside an experienced healthcare team in a fast-paced, supportive environment where your skills and commitment to excellence make a difference every day.
What We're Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
Coordinate patient care while supporting providers during examinations and procedures.
Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and updating health records.
Perform clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient daily operations.
Assist with patient education, medication administration (as permitted), and follow-up care instructions.
Collaborate with providers and care team members to promote quality outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
