Role Description The Certified Medical Assistant role is a part-time, position based in Jackson, MS. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting clinical visits by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, drawing labs, updating medical histories, and assisting with basic procedures. The role also involves coordinating patient flow, providing patient education on diabetes and cardiometabolic care plans, and reinforcing treatment instructions. Administrative duties include managing medical records, handling appointment scheduling, and helping maintain accurate documentation in electronic health systems. The Certified Medical Assistant collaborates closely with clinicians and other team members to ensure efficient operations and a respectful, safe care experience for all patients.

• Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including vital signs measurement, exam room preparation, and support for routine procedures.

• Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document and communicate patient information and care plans.

• Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, patient intake, and coordination of clinical workflows.

• Candidates should possess Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, safety, and education for individuals living with diabetes and cardiometabolic conditions.

• Candidates should possess proficiency in managing Medical Records, including electronic health records, documentation accuracy, and privacy compliance.

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) credential and BLS/CPR certification.
• \n
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse, underserved communities.

• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with EHR systems; experience in cardiometabolic or primary care settings is beneficial.

• Candidates should be phlebotomy capable. certification preferred.
